Where it was filmed 'Wonder Woman'

A woman walks past the glass pyramid that places us outside the Louvre in Paris, on her way to work. Here she receives a briefcase with an old photo inside. And starts to remember.

Many of the interiors in the film were reconstructed using computer graphics, while 38 real locations were used, in France, Italy and England. We discover that Diana, princess of the Amazonians, grew up on a magnificent island, where she was trained to defeat Ares, the God of war, who has planted discord among men. For the island of Themyscira, a mix of coastal areas in southern Italy were used, more specifically Campania and Apulia: Palinuro and Marina di Camerota on the Cilento coast lend their magnificent scenery to the island of the Amazonians, the sea stacks and imposing stone monolith are from the Baia dei Mergoli in Mattinata and the Pizzomunno in Vieste (FG) respectively, while the balcony the Amazonians look out from over the paradise around them, keeping an eye out for danger on the horizon, is that of Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, on the Amalfi Coast.

The stone town where the Amazonians live is actually Matera. Diana, the daughter of Queen Hippolyta, is a curious child, and her mother, before convincing herself to let her train as the best of the Amazonians, tells her their story and shows her the only weapon that can defeat Ares. This weapon is located in a well-guarded tower, which is actually situated in Castel del Monte, a 13th-century octagonal fortress built on the orders of Federico II in Andria (BT).

But trouble lurks around the corner, and when Diana saves Captain Trevor from the Germans and discovers that a devastating war is causing death and destruction in the world, she is sure that Ares is at the bottom of it, and decides to leave the island with Steve. The pair arrive in London and find themselves on the front line: all these scenes were filmed in London at Tilbury Fort (an English air base), Arundel Castle in West Sussex, and Bourne Forest in Farnham (Surrey), which provides the backdrop for a ferocious battle.
