A classic example of Franciscan conventual architecture, the Convent of St. Francis in Contrada Sant'Antonino, Tarano (province of Rieti), dates to the 13th century.
The complex includes the church, today almost completely roofless, and the connected convent. The ground floor has a portico with two cross-vaulted ceilings, a cloister with arches on pilasters, the ambulatory extends along arches and the former cells on the upper storey are used for residential purposes today.
