In Paris, on the terrace of a luxury hotel, waiter Fausto meets Nadine, who’s on a break during a modelling audition. It’s the beginning of their romance and respective problems.
The audition takes place at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, but the interior shots were taken at the "Pavillon des Fleurs" in the Kurhaus in Merano, recognisable with its art nouveau style. As a result of some of the episodes that ensue following his encounter with the woman, Fausto ends up in a French prison, for which the prison of Bolzano was used.
When he finishes serving his sentence, Nadine, who is now a famous model, is outside waiting for Fausto. The pair go and live in Milan: the couple’s problems centre around a club in Milan, the Alaska, which Fausto took over the management of with his friend Sandro. The story comes full circle and ends in another prison, this time a women’s prison, the interiors of which were reconstructed in the old Francesco Rossi barracks in Merano.
