Peppino Garibaldi lives contentedly far from the corridors of political power, amidst the mountains of the Alta Val di Susa, between Sauze di Cesana and the hamlets of San Sicario and Fenils in Cesana Torinese. In the Quirinale Library, actually that of the Accademia delle Scienze in Turin, Peppino attempts to replicate the event from 8 years earlier, when he won her heart the first time. In addition to scenes at the Quirinal Palace – once again the Reggia di Venaria Reale and its Galleria Grande with the President’s office in Palazzo Reale – there are scenes from the Chigi Palace, actually Palazzo Cisterna. The exteriors were shot in Rome this time, in particular in Piazza di Monte Citorio, Piazza del Quirinale and Piazza Colonna opposite Palazzo Chigi. In the courtyard of the Museum of Palazzo Altemps – Museo Nazionale Romano, Peppino and Janis ponder the mole’s identity, while guards on strike play football. At the Convention Center La Nuvola, designed by the architect Massimo Fuksas, a plot against the Italian state is hatched.
