Where it was filmed 'Il Paradiso all'improvviso'

Lorenzo (Leonardo Pieraccioni) lives in piazza della Santissima Annunziata in Florence, he looks out of a window above the Loggiato dei Servi di Maria. He exercises outdoors in Parco delle Cascine, viale dell’Aeronautica. One of his best friends, Giandomenico Bardella, lives in Palazzo Corsini on Lungarno Corsini.

The retelling of the ancient gambling feud between the noble families of Giandomenico Bardella and Taddeo Borromini required a completely different setting and the medieval fortress where forebear Guglielmo Borromini leaps into the void in order to win a bet is Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano (RM).

A large part of the film, however, takes place on the island of Ischia (NA) where Amaranta (Angie Cepeda) intends to surprise her boyfriend with snowfall on a luxury villa in Forio. Unexpected changes mean that Amaranta shares her carefully planned, romantic three-day tour of the island with Lorenzo. The pair visit many areas of the island, starting at the famous Ischia Ponte whose Aragonese Castle provides the backdrop for numerous scenes. The itinerary includes a swim in the Parco Termale Negombo in the Bay of San Montano in Lacco Ameno and participation in the traditional dance of the hamlet of Buonopane in Barano, the “’ndrezzata”. Other stops on the tour include the untamed Zaro woodlands in Forio, via Litoranea in Casamicciola Terme, Torre di Guevara in Cartaromana and the unmissable Sant’Angelo d’Ischia, ancient fishing village in Serrara Fontana.
