Indiana Jones and the Quadrant of Destiny, the fifth instalment in the iconic Indiana Jones franchise, stars Harrison Ford as the legendary archaeologist and is directed by James Mangold.
A tired and settled Henry Jones is about to hang up his whip when his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) gets him involved in the search for an object that ex-Nazi scientist Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) – now a NASA collaborator – also has his sights on, which leads to a new adventure around the world.
The production returned to Italy for the new adventure of the most famous archaeologist in the world. Episode 3 in 1989 – Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade – included sequences shot in Venice. Episode 5, filmed in 2021, shot instead in Sicily: at the archaeological sites of Magna Graecia including the area of Segesta and other locations in the province of Trapani, and also in Palermo, Marsala, Cefalù and Syracuse, where the famous Ear of Dionysius was transformed into a mine which conserves an incredible secret in its bowels.
