Pier Paolo Paganelli's first work, Incanto, stars Mia McGovern Zaini as 10-year-old Margot, whose dying mother entrusted her to the care of the housekeeper Felicia (Vittoria Puccini). Her mother’s wishes also included the request that the family villa become an orphanage so that Margot can grow up happily with other children. But evil Felicia wants to take possession of the estate and has no intention of taking care of Margot. With the complicity of her suitor, Max (Claudio ‘Greg’ Gregori), she exploits the orphans and keeps Margot segregated and neglected to the point that the little girl withdraws into herself, no longer speaking. The interiors and exteriors of the orphanage were recreated at Villa Alberico on via Appia Antica, Rome.
One night Margot manages to escape and, having crossed through the dark woods, comes across a circus. She is welcomed by Charlie (Giorgio Panariello), a white clown, who introduces her to the secret that makes their circus unique: the big top is magical. Welcomed by her new circus family, Margot shines and, without even realizing it, finds her tongue again. But Felicia is out looking for her… Will Margot be able to reclaim her roots and free herself from the clutches of her wicked guardian? The scenes of the woods and the circus were filmed in the green park surrounding the villa.
