Enrico Maria Artale's Un prophète – an eight-episode French TV series inspired by Jacques Audiard's 2009 film of the same name, was filmed principally in Marseille, with some scenes in Puglia. The series chronicles the coming-of-age experience of eighteen-year-old Malik while detained in the prison of Marseille (the interiors were built at CIASU in Fasano). Filming took place in Bari, Fasano, Monopoli, Ostuni, and Putignano.
The series is produced by CPB Films and Media Musketeers, with executive producers Bottega Films and Indigo Film, and the Puglia-based production company Oz Film, with contributions from the Apulia Film Fund, the Apulia Film Commission, and the Puglia Region. 54 professionals from Apulia were employed on the series.
