Rocco Schiavone, the series featuring the spiky, deputy commissioner from Rome stationed in Aosta, returned to Valle d’Aosta to shoot Season 3 for a total of 12 weeks of principal photography and substantial involvement of local professionals and workers. Schiavone has never actually left Aosta but he was often seen in Rome in the episodes of Season 2 as he attempted, in his inimitable way, to solve a case he cared about. The four episodes (“La vita va avanti”, “L’Accattone”, “Après le boule passe”, “Fate il vostro gioco”) produced by Cross Production and directed by Simone Spada (Domani è un altro giorno) are scheduled to air on Rai 2 in autumn 2019.
Rocco Schiavone, who debuted in the novels by Antonio Manzini and is played by Marco Giallini, was transferred for disciplinary reasons to Aosta, where he manages daily cases in the Valley while he comes to terms with a difficult past and some rather sketchy friendships. The many locations that have served the series include the city of Aosta, in particular the Roman theatre, Piazza Chanoux and the Forense Cryptoporticus.
A few days ago, the creative producer of the series, Maddalena Rinaldo, announced that Rocco Schiavone will return to Valle d’Aosta in 2020 for Season 4.
