The alleys of Polignano a Mare and Alberobello are serving as locations in April for the Polish TV series Felicità, directed by Makary Janowski and inspired by the "Felicità" novels by Katarzyna Kalicinska and Radoslaw Figura. The production began filming in Apulia after work in Warsaw. Produced by Telewizja Polska - Jolanta Filipowicz (Agencja Kreacji Filmu i Serialu) and directed by Grzegorz Piekarski for Golden Media Polska, the 26-episode series is a story that intertwines Italy and Poland in a richly romantic story, poised between drama and comedy.
The main character, Giulia, is played by Apulian Oriana Celentano who notes: "I felt a special responsibility and pride in representing Apulia, the colors and character of my homeland in this project. I was chosen for the role in part because I worked hard on my roots at the audition, trying to convey that unique dichotomy between strength and sweetness that distinguishes women from the South". The Italian cast also includes Alessandro Parrello, Francesco Petit, Alessandro Bressanello, and Eugenio Ricciardi. The Polish cast includes Dawid Ogrodnik, one of the most recognized actors in contemporary European cinema, Laura Breszka and Klementyna Karnkowska.
The series will premiere on the Polish national network TVP1 in September 2026, and later in Italy.
