Pinerolo offers up free locations

28-10-2019

Pinerolo, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Turin, is offering its territory as a location to producers and directors. It intends to do so free of charge - i.e. with no fee for use of its public spaces - for any work shot in the territory, from feature-length films to advertising. This is an area that features a medieval historical centre, the Cavallerizza Caprilli, old prisons with inner courtyards for yard time and a wide range of natural landscapes, from mountains to rivers, hills, plains, woods and villas. This opportunity for producers and directors will also benefit Pinerolo because a production requires food and catering, hotels, technicians, extras, all elements that can be obtained in the area.

Pinerolo has already been a location for many productions and so is aware of the advantages of hosting television and film crews. Most recently, it was used for the Milanese hinterland in the film Tigers. Other productions, however, have used it recognisably, taking advantage of the historic locations of the city, such as the palazzo delle Poste, the Alliaudi library and the old prisons. Among these are film titles such as: La prima linea (The Front Line), Il sogno del maratoneta, L’uomo che rubò la Gioconda, L’industriale, La mossa del pinguino, and the TV series Non uccidere (Thou Shalt Not Kill) and Elisa di Rivombrosa.
