Taranto and other Italian locations will be seen in 190 countries worldwide thanks to the new film from director and producer Michael Bay (Bad Boys, The Rock, 13 Hours, Transformers), Six Underground. The film, estimated to have cost approximately $150 million, is available on Netflix from 13 December. It stars Ryan Reynolds as the leader of a gang of "vigilantes" whose only goal is to cancel their past and fake their deaths.

Shot in California, the United Arab Emirates and Italy, Taranto was the location for some of film’s most spectacular scenes, including several on the Ponte Girevole and in the Città Vecchia, plus chases, crashes and a double car explosion in Corso Due Mari.

Other scenes were shot in Lazio, in Rome and Frascati, and in Tuscany, in Siena and the historical centre of Florence which served as the backdrop for a spectacular car chase that races through the courtyard outside the Uffizi Gallery.
