In the Roman suburbs, the player finds themselves in a period of historical change, somewhere between the fall of the nobility and the development of the new Italian State. The locations involved in the breach of Porta Pia have been reconstructed with great care: particularly well-executed is the contrast between the natural environment and the ruins of the buildings. The team has been praised by many for the accuracy of the representation and the research carried out using sources from the period.

First-person shooter
The game (which is completely free) stages the Breach of Porta Pia (1870). The player takes control of a rifleman who has lost his battalion and must make his way across Italian territory, to complete the annexation of the city to the State. The developers’ website states that “the story is completely invented, but we based it on research and documents from the period to make it as real as possible”. It also says: “Navigation Mode allows the user to navigate the map without participating in any conflict, but interacting with special icons that activate the audio comments of the Creative Director of XX-La Breccia and the Vice-Director of the Museo del Vittoriano”.
