The game aims to give the player the visual impact and atmosphere of the Mediterranean coast, in particular the Genoese coast. The main source of inspiration was the old coastal town of Boccadasse, in the quarter of Albaro. On the game’s official website, the creator, Federico Fasce, says: “Mediterranean Voidland is a game about exploring a village in the Mediterranean and watching it from different points of view while listening to good music […] The idea is to combine the visuals and the music to try to evoke the very same emotions you feel when visiting these small fishing villages”. Accompanying the player as they explore is music by Genovese band Palconudo: a musical counterpoint with roots in Mediterranean culture.

Adventure
Mediterranean Voidland is built around the concept of a virtual diorama: a village made up of a series of islands suspended in the air is laid out in such a way that as the player explores, they can see the other islands. The creator says he was enthralled by the description of the Acropolis of Athens, and how it’s built in which a way that gives visitors an excellent view of the various monuments as they climb the hill.
