Locations

The Italian locations in the game are revisited through the fantasy filter. The adventure begins in San Pasquale, a fictitious village nestled in the mountains and rich in copper ore. After the attack, the protagonist makes her way to Venice. The architecture is clearly recognisable and the map is vaguely similar to that of the real-life city, but large chunks of it are inaccessible: the main areas that can be explored are renamed the Outer City (North-East) and Inner City (comprising part of the centre).
Unaltered are the names for the Arsenale and the Doge’s Palace, although the architecture has been modified. The exteriors of the cathedral in the game were inspired by those of Santa Maria della Salute. Last but not least, there is a system of canals and gondolas that enable the player to get around more quickly.
