The debut film by writer Donato Carrisi is set in the fictional village of Avechot.
Immersed in woods and mountains, where the mist reigns supreme, the small residential centre where the girl disappears was created by putting together various settings in Alto Adige. The production spent over a month in the areas around the Parco Naturale Puez Odle and in the foothills of the Massiccio dello Sciliar and the Catinaccio, getting the most out of the areas between Bolzano and Bressanone. They also spent time in the Nova Levante in Val d’Ega and Karersee, where the beautiful Lake Carezza and the Grand Hotel of Carezza stand out in particular. The Grand Hotel became a soundstage for the production with many settings created there: the abandoned hotel searched by the police commissioner looking for the girl, the Police headquarters, the interiors of Anna Lou’s home, the village museum, the hospital, the setting for the model of Avechot and the rooms used by Vogel, the journalist and Dr. Flores.
