Winter Promenade – Merano

Description

The Winter Promenade winds eastwards from the thermal baths around the old town centre of Merano on the northern bank of the Passirio to the area of the Passirio gate.
In its initial section, the promenade is bordered by an Art Nouveau veranda built in 1889 by Dr. Franz Tappeiner, whose walls are decorated with landscapes of South Tyrol. The central part of the veranda forms a small pavilion with commemorative plaques and busts of personalities who contributed to the creation of the spa town of Merano.
