Vaglio Lise Station began functioning on 31 Maggio 1987, at the same time as the new Paola trainline was opened, replacing the old station in the centre of Cosenza.
Differing from the norm in constructions of this type, massive roof coverings in armoured cement are supported by pillars on every platform. Five platforms are for passengers while the remaining three are used for cargo.
Near the station is an engine hangar with petroleum and coal storage, a cargo area and the workshops of Ferrovie della Calabria used for maintenance.
