Pentema, hamlet in the municipality of Torriglia (GE), stands in isolation on the wooded slopes of Val Pentemina at an altitude of just over 800m. The borgo has conserved its ancient layout with stone houses huddled together as they descend the slope on steep cobbled crose and meet cross paths.
A life-sized nativity scene animates the alleys and houses of the historical centre every year. It includes settings and professions built by local artists who give the mannequins the faces of former residents of the village.
Extending between parco dell'Antola and the Pentemina river, the Pentemina Valley offers excursions on foot, horseback or mountain bike to Val Trebbia, Valle Scrivia and Valbrevenna, up to Mount Antola and Val Borbera.
Pentema stands in the territory of the Four Provinces (Alessandria, Genoa, Pavia, Piacenza) which are linked by their culturally similar traditions and habits, including a repertory of shared music and dances from the past.
