The gardens of Villa della Pergola in Alassio (SV) were created at the end of the 1800s for General Montagu McMurd, in a strategic position overlooking the sea, around the villa which belonged to the Hanbury family.
The 22,000 m2 grounds offer the opportunity to admire Mediterranean vegetation, plus the exotic plants, botanical collections of agapanthus (almost 500 different varieties) and clematis (32 varieties), which cover the pergolas. The garden has an array of panoramic terraces, statues, wooded areas, basins, pergolas and lily ponds.
