Applications to participate in the IBERMEDIA Program will be accepted up to 11:59 on 25 April 2022 (time zone of the country where the majority applicant is headquartered) for the following areas of funding:
- Co-development of film projects
- Co-development of feature length animation films
- Co-development of series
- Co-productions
- Training
Active since November 1997, IBERMEDIA is the Ibero-American assistance fund that aims to promote activities to boost the audio-visual sector in its countries. In addition to Italy, 22 members and CAACI observers finance the Program: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela
Eligibility requirements for admission to the program:
- Projects must be co-productions between at least two independent producers from different member states in the fund
- In the case of bilateral co-productions, these must be between ITALY and a Latin American country member of the IBERMEDIA program
- In the case of multilateral co-productions, these must include a minimum of two country members of the IBERMEDIA Program, of which at least one must be Latin American
- Co-productions must include technical and artistic participation from a minimum of one Latin American country. This participation must be proportional to the economic contribution (direct or equivalent) of the producer from those countries.
For the Training funding area:
- Training programs must be accessible to professionals from all the Ibero-American countries plus Italy
- Applicants must guarantee that the majority of IBERMEDIA grantees participating in training activities come from countries other than where the program is taking place.
