The call for applications for internationalisation funding is now open

The guidelines to accessing internationalisation funds to support the foreign distribution and promotion of Italian cinema and audiovisual works for 2018 have been published online with the application forms.

MiBAC, in collaboration with Istituto Luce Cinecittà and the leading associations in the field, has made available funds for up to €2.8 million for 2018, through the following five categories:

  • Distribution Fund (€1.2 million), for the theatrical distribution of Italian films in Europe, Australia, Canada, Israel, Russia, Turkey, in the Asean countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam), South Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and countries part of the Ibermedia Programme (Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela);
  • International Export Funds (€400,000), to support the participation of sales agents representing Italian films in international markets;
  • Audiovisual Producers Fund (€600,000), for the promotion of audiovisual works at leading international festivals, markets and co-production events;
  • Cinema Producers international festival promotion Fund (€400,000), to support the presence of Italian films at leading international events; 
  • Cinema Producers, co-production markets and training Fund (€200,000), to support participation in co-production markets, courses, workshops and training courses.
