The film coproduction agreement signed in Tokyo on 28 June 2023 between the governments of the Republic of Italy and Japan will take effect from 9 August 2024.
Under the terms of the agreement, Italian-Japanese coproductions will be accorded the same status as national works and therefore be eligible to access benefits provided by the relative legislations.
The 5 year agreement will be automatically renewed.
The goal is to improve the partnerships between industry professionals in both countries, increasing the number of Italian-Japanese coproductions.
