Following a challenging season marked by prolonged Hollywood strikes involving actors and screenwriters as well as the devastating fires in Los Angeles, Cinecittà is regaining momentum by welcoming major productions.

Among the most notable projects filmed recently at the Studios in Via Tuscolana are the sci-fi thriller White Mars starring Luke Newton and Lucy Hale shot in Theater 18, and Mel Gibson’s The Resurrection of the Christ, the long-awaited sequel to ‘The Passion of the Christ’ produced by Icon, which will make significant use of the new Theater 22 at Cinecittà. Renowned filmmaker Ridley Scott has also chosen Cinecittà for his upcoming project The Dog Stars.

Additionally, the Studios will host the production of Roma Elastica by visionary French director Bertrand Mandico. The film, starring international star Marion Cotillard, is a tribute to some of the great masters and legends of Italian cinema and is a co-production between the French Atelier de Production, and the Italian Redibis Film and Dugong Films.

Furthermore, a new project by Ficarra and Picone is underway. Meanwhile, other exciting productions by Disney, Universal, Fox Nation not yet announced are in preparation.

Noteworthy is the decision by major companies to handle the post-production of their projects at Cinecittà’s state-of-the-art laboratories, focusing on both video and audio. Titles such as Better Man, the biopic about Robbie Williams, Emilia Perez by Jacques Audiard, together with Roland Emmerich’s series Those About to Die and Queer by Luca Guadagnino, all of which shot in Cinecittà, have made use of these facilities. The trust in Cinecittà’s technical departments are a testament of their reliability and excellence, a guarantee for the world’s leading directors.

At the same time, partnerships with prominent film, TV and entertainment production companies such as Fremantle and Endemol Shine are brought on and promise to bring an array of new projects to the studios.

Since its inception in 1937, Cinecittà Studios has become a cornerstone of the film industry, offering a complete range of production and post-production services for every audiovisual genre, and allowing creative operators to follow the entire chain of their project, from the script to the finished film. By June 2026, the number of theaters will expand to 25, complemented by a 10-hectare backlot for outdoor filming and 21,000 square meters dedicated to production services, making this creativity factory increasingly welcoming and attractive for domestic and international productions.

The new industrial plan projects us into an evolutionary and expansive future, integrating advanced technology and updates, while staying faithfully rooted in the most creative and essential element – its people, the true driving force of Cinecittà’s legacy.

This plan rejuvenates the cultural and visionary identity of Cinecittà, reaffirming its original mission: to serve as the crossroads of technique and imagination, where the stories that move the world take shape.
