Three calls for grant proposals for cinematographic and audiovisual works in 2025 have been published online on the website of the Directorate-General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture, with a total budget of €82 million.
- The first call allocates resources for writing, development and production of cinematographic and audiovisual works, making available: €1.2 million for screenplays; €3 million for development; and €31.6 million for production - divided into €7.8 million for feature films by young creatives; €7.5 million for debut and second works; €6.6 million for documentaries of particular artistic quality and/or about characters/ events key to Italian national cultural identity; € 900K for short films; €8.8 million for animated works of particular artistic quality and and/or about characters/ events key to Italian national cultural identity.
- The second call allocates €29.7 million for the production of films of particular artistic quality and/or about characters/ events key to Italian national cultural identity.
- The third call allocates €16.5 million for the production of works for television and/or the internet about characters/ events key to Italian national cultural identity.
Requests must be submitted via the DGCOL platform during the following windows:
- 1 - 15 July 2025, deadline 23:59
- 7 - 21 October 2025, deadline 23:59
