The Autonomous Region of Sardinia, through its Department of Public Education, Cultural Heritage, Information, Entertainment, and Sport, has published a 2025 call for proposals in support of the production of feature films of significant regional interest, pursuant to Articles 7 and 12 of Regional Law 15/2006.
The €1.65 M budget is intended to promote film projects that enhance the island's cultural, natural, and anthropological identity, while also stimulating employment and growth in the local audiovisual sector, in synergy with the work of the Sardinia Film Commission.
The call is open to Italian or international film and audiovisual production companies, individual or grouped into networks (RTI), that meet stringent requirements regarding experience and operational capability in the sector. Cultural associations, foundations, or freelancers are not eligible. Companies must have been active for at least 24 months and demonstrate impeccable tax and social security compliance.
The grant is awarded up to 35% of the film's total cost, a maximum of €400K per project, which can be increased to € 500K for international co-productions. Projects must ensure a local economic impact of at least 120% of the requested grant.
Selection will be based on a ranking system, with a maximum score of 100 points. Only projects that achieve at least 50 points, of which at least 40 must be related to cultural content, will be funded. Special attention is given to:
