Apply for selective grants from 3 June: the 2026 budget is €35.7 million

The "Call for applications for selective grants for the writing, development, and production of cinematographic and audiovisual works – Article 26 of Law No. 220 of 2016 – Year 2026" is now online on the website of the Directorate-General for Cinema and Audiovisual.

Applications may be submitted in the windows below:

  • 3 - 17 June, 2026 (by 23:59 CET)
  • 1 - 15 October 2026 (by 23:59 CET)

The €35.7 million budget for 2026 includes: €1 million for screenwriting, €2 million for development, and €32.7 million for production, divided as follows:

  • feature-length films by young authors: €7,800,000;
  • first and second feature-length films: €7,500,000;
  • documentaries (TV, cinema, web) of outstanding artistic quality, featuring figures / events pertinent to Italy’s national cultural identity: €4,000,000;
  • short films (TV, cinema, web): €900,000;
  • animated projects (TV, cinema, web) of outstanding artistic quality, featuring characters / events pertinent to Italy’s national cultural identity: €5,000,000.
  • films of outstanding artistic quality and films featuring characters / events pertinent to Italy’s national cultural identity: €7,500,000.
