After ten years of activity, the Film Fund & Commission of Alto Adige has brought the Film Fund guidelines into step with the experience accumulated. In addition to the three usual parameters for projects – artistic, economic, effect on the territory – there will now be two more: Gender Mainstreaming and Green Shooting. Furthermore, the Fund which has focused to date on financing production and pre-production of films, documentaries and TV series shot entirely or partially in Alto Adige, will now offer support for short films and short form series.
Gender mainstreaming
Projects selected as beneficiaries of the financing Fund contribute to the promotion of equal opportunities in the workplace in the audio-visual sector. If two competing projects have an equal evaluation, the choice will fall on the one that displays an equal balance in the number of male and female professionals employed, especially those in positions as department head in production, screenwriting, direction, camera, acting, photography, editing, set design and music.
Green shooting
Given the importance of protecting the local landscape and resources, the film industry in Alto Adige must develop sustainably. For this reason, IDM, working with other Funds, filmmakers and local professionals, has developed a certificate of Green Shooting to regulate the sustainability of filming activity. Production companies submitting requests for financing will undertake to respect certain parameters and will be supported by a Green Manager: respect for the Green protocol and criteria will be verified by the Agenzia provinciale per l’ambiente e la tutela del clima (Provincial Agency for the Environment and Climate protection) before issuing the Green Certificate.
Short films and short form series
The Fund’s new guidelines also include support for short films and short form series (including online series, and films that feature more experimental and creative styles). A new form of support whose main goal is to incentivize young talent. Reminder that the deadline for the Second Call 2021 is 4 May 2021.
