The public announcement of Support for audiovisual productions in Calabria for the year 2021, whose aims are to promote the region, the visibility of its natural and artistic resources, develop local tourism and raise awareness of the historical, cultural, religious, economic, social heritage of Calabria along with its anthropological practices and traditions, has been published online at the Fondazione Calabria Film Commission website.
The call, with a budget of €1,350,000, targets individual producers, i.e. the owners of 100% of the rights to the work or, alternatively, coproducers or associate producers, i.e. owners to a quota of the rights to the work. Genres eligible for financing include: feature-length filmsintended for theatrical release, television dramas and short films of various genres (documentary or musical): all categories include animated works. Feature-length films and TV dramas have been allocated contributions of €50,000 to €250,000, with €5,000 to €20,000 for short films: in all cases, the grant cannot amount to more than 50% of the scheduled overall expenses.
To access the scheme, the films or dramas must shoot for at least 2 weeks in the region, short films for only one week.
