The locations chosen by the game developers were borrowed from the film, albeit with the creative freedoms afforded by the video gaming world. Indiana Jones arrives in Venice not via the pier in front of Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute but near the Church of San Barnaba. The archaeologist is met by his Venetian contact in a café located in the very same piazza. The church is not actually home to any library, but an exhibition on Leonardo Da Vinci. Nonetheless, the player, following in the footsteps of the archaeologist, explores the inside and ends up in a complex system of catacombs.

Graphic adventure
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, a tie-in with the film of the same name, was created by Noah Falstein, in partnership with David Fox and Ron Gilbert. The game features various actions scenes borrowed from the film: clashes with Nazis (which can be avoided by solving secondary puzzles), the sections in which you’re working against the clock, the piloting of a plane and the exploration of caves (with the accompanying pursuits).
