The Regione del Veneto has approved an allocation of € 6 M to support audiovisual production (PR FESR 2021-2027). The aim of the call is to support local audiovisual production and to attract film and audiovisual productions, with domestic and foreign investment, to the area, while boosting the region’s technical and artistic sector and promoting knowledge of its artistic and landscape heritage and specialities.
The call provides for two funding sessions. The first has a budget of € 3M, of which €2.7M is earmarked for feature-length films, television series and animation, and € 300K for documentaries, short films and virtual and immersive reality works. This session is open from 10.00 am on 8 April 2025 (CET) to 5.00 pm on 20 May 2025. The second session, also with a € 3M budget, is scheduled from 10.00 am on 7 October 2025 to 5.00 pm on 18 November 2025.
Submissions may be made by small and medium-sized enterprises investing in audiovisual productions. Submissions may be made by: the independent, sole or co-producers of the work; or the contracted executive producer. In the case of co-productions, only one application can be submitted per project by only one of the co-producers.
The maximum contributions are €350K for feature-length fiction or animated films; €500K for TV series and €60K for documentaries and short films.
This call continues the precedents of previous years. The Region’s 2024 call supported 21 productions: 12 feature-length films and TV series, 9 documentaries and short films. The €4M disbursed in grants in 2024 created an estimated economic impact in the region of €10M.
