Lino, a mechanic-policeman, works in piazza XX Settembre which is dominated by the statue of the Latin poet Ovid, born in Sulmona (AQ). In contrast, Alex’s job involves driving the getaway car for a gang of thieves, and it is during a bank raid in Corso Ovidio that the two meet for the first time in thirty years. Many settings in the historical centre are caught on camera as the background to strolls and unlikely chase sequences. After misunderstandings and confusion, Alex and Lino, finally friends again, clear things up in Piazza Garibaldi. The friends talk while sitting on a step beneath the Swabian Aqueduct, behind them the late Romanesque portal of the “rotonda” that distinguishes the flank of the Monastery of San Francesco della Scarpa which overlooks the square.
