Where it was filmed 'Boccaccio '70 – La riffa'

Act IV of Boccaccio ’70, entitled The Raffle and directed by Vittorio De Sica, is set in Lugo, in the area around Ravenna, during a country fair which features amusement rides – as seen in the opening scenes to the notes of Soldi soldi soldi – and a choir who performs on a stage in viale della Libertà. An unusual lottery makes headlines among the local men who follow the extraction in Trattoria del Castello (which no longer exists) in piazza Garibaldi, and in the bar in piazza Primo Maggio overlooked by the Rocca Estense. The prize is Zoe (Sofia Loren), the buxom attraction of a travelling shooting range, which is already on via Risorgimento being pulled out of the village when the winner is about to claim his prize. The villagers tell Sacristan Cuspit that he has won the raffle during a procession, a scene shot in the neighbouring village of Bagnacavallo in via Luigi Carlo Farini, not Lugo.
