On Our Own (De capul nostru) is a Romanian-Italian co-production, directed by Romanian Tudor Cristian Jurgiu. It tells the story of Flavia, an adolescent growing up in Bucharest without her parents who have gone to seek work in Italy, whose precarious equilibrium is severely tested by two young runaways.
The film was shot in the summer of 2024: five weeks in Bucharest, Romania; one week in Emilia-Romagna, in the areas of Parma, Alto Savio, and the Casentinesi Forests, lake Pontini (at 750 msl on the slopes of Mount Comero, in Bagno di Romagna) and lake Lungo in Bagno di Romagna.
The film was produced by Libra Films (Romania) with Indyca (Italy), with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, and the support of CNC - Romanian Film Centre, Creative Europe, Eurimages, and the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission.
