Waterfalls of Monte Gelato

Cascate di Monte Gelato, Mazzano Romano, RM, Italia

Description

The Waterfalls of Monte Gelato can be found in one of the most picturesque places in the Parco della Valle del Treja, a pristine natural oasis in the Monti Cimini between Rome and Viterbo in the municipality of Mazzano Romano. Features here include the ruins of a 1st century B.C.E. Roman villa and a 19th century watermill plus the woods, vegetation and the small natural waterfalls. The park was made a protected area in 1982 and is a popular tourist destination especially in spring and summer.
