A village dating back to Medieval times, Tagliacozzo (AQ) is the third-biggest municipality in the Marsica area, and has a lively cultural scene. The Duke’s Palace, the church annexed to the Convent of St. Francis and the Church of Saints Cosma and Damiano are the main features of the historic centre at the foot of Mount Civita.
5 kilometres far from the town there is a residential area known as 'little Switzerland' approximately 1,000 metres above sea level, which is surrounded by stables and horse-riding clubs.
