The film was shot mainly by ACI (Anonima Cinematografica Impero) at the Farnesina in Rome.
In the opening scenes of the film we see the protagonist, Paola, in her role as a high-end prostitute on Via della Farnesina, with the Church of the Gran Madre di Dio in the distance on the right. Not far away are the greenhouses that Giovanni shows Paola, located in the area belonging to the Società Ippica Italiana, in Via dei Monti della Farnesina. Tagliacozzo, in Abruzzo, was instead the filming location for the scenes in which wee see Paola in the countryside and the wedding of her sister Anna to Nardo. Here we see the Church of Santa Maria del Soccorso on Via Valeria in the background, a small 12th-century building outside the town centre adorned with and elegant covered walkaway with three road arches.
