Fivizzano is located 326m above sea level, on the south-western slopes of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in the Lunigiana. Here Jacopo da Fivizzano opened one of the first printing houses in the whole of Italy, and where the first typewriter to ever be built was created and used. The ancient town walls surround picturesque historic buildings such as the Church of Santi Jacopo e Antonio, Verrucola Castle, and Piazza Medicea.
