Santa Barbara Fort is an ancient fortification which was built on the site of a pre-existing Medieval fortress, the towers and dungeon of which can still be seen to this day. Located on the south-eastern corner of Pistoia's city walls, it has a quadrilateral layout and is fortified with powerful brick walls.
