Calcaferro, in the area of Stazzema, is an archaeological mine site located about 50km from Lucca, in the foothills of the Apuan Alps. The abandoned buildings, hidden by thick vegetation, are the remains of powder and fuse mills in use during the 1920s, years of great activity for the mines of the area.
