Grand Hotel Rimini was officially inaugurated on July 1, 1908. In 1994, the building was inscribed as a national monument and placed under the protection of the Superintendence of Fine Arts.
It was designed by the South American architect Paolito Somazzi, who used a historicist artistic style to combine elements of classical Renaissance tradition with Art Nouveau.
Praised by Federico Fellini, who had a permanent suite here (now the Fellini suite), the elegant structure has 168 rooms, including 15 suites, in the central building and the Parco Fellini residence; a large swimming pool surrounded by the greenery of a storied park; private beach and two wellness centres: in the hotel and on the beach.
The ground floor comprises the hall, the Fellini room, the column room, the Veranda room, the Tonino Guerra room (formerly the Green room), the Giada room, and the Meeting room.
