Sicily: €10.8 M for film and audio-visual productions from 2022/23 – submissions open 1 June

The Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of Regione Siciliana in collaboration with Sicilia Film Commission has published a call for proposals to support film and audio-visual productions in the regional territory.

The overall budget for 2022-2023, equivalent to € 10.8 M will be allocated as follows:

• € 8.8 M for fictional narratives: films for TV/theatrical release, TV series, animated TV series (maximum grant € 1 M);
• € 1.8 M for non-fiction narratives: documentaries, TV documentary series, animated TV documentary series (maximum grant € 200 K);
• € 200 K for short films (maximum grant € 40 K).

Productions awarded non-payable grants must spend 150% of the amount granted in the region and complete the product within 18 months from the date of official publication of the list of grantees (an extension of 3 months may be requested).

Grant requests may be submitted during the following sessions:

• 1 – 30 June 2022
• 1 – 30 September 2022
