Set in Apulia for 'Stolen Girl', thriller directed by James Kent

Apulia once again stands in for a distant land, this time Ohio in the United States, for the thriller directed by James Kent entitled Stolen Girl, starring Scott Eastwood, son of Clint (Fast&Furious 8), the English actress Kate Beckinsale and the American actor and activist James Cromwell.

The news was announced by the film and TV production company, Ilbe, who has signed an agreement with Voltage, Academy Award winner Nicolas Chartier’s production and distribution company founded in 2005 to executive produce the film through Stolen Girl Llc.

The shoot in Apulia will last for 6 weeks and take place in BariTaranto and lower Salento. The film has an overall budget of $25 M and most of the production will take place in Italy with significant positive effects on the territory especially in terms of employment.

Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi are producers along with Frida Torresblanco, Scott Lambert, Luca Matrundola. Executive producers are Richard Salvatore and Danielle Maloni.

Stolen Girl, set in 1993 in Ohio, tells the story of Maureen and her 6-year-old daughter Amina who is taken from the country by her ex-husband Karim. After years of fruitless searching, Maureen is recruited by Robeson, a child-catcher, who promises his help in finding Amina if she works for him.  Maureen eventually tracks Karin down in Beirut where she snatches her 11-year-old daughter.
