Record number of productions in Veneto: 6 active sets in November

Veneto - protagonist of Italian and international film and audiovisual production. The simultaneous presence of six active sets in the region was announced several days ago: “This is the first time that 6 feature film productions are filming simultaneously in our territory” commented the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia. “That is, 3 productions in Venice and 3 in the rest of Veneto”.

The first is Primavera, directed by Venetian director Damiano Michieletto and based on the novel Stabat Mater by Tiziano Scarpa (also Venetian). The cast includes Tecla Insolia, Michele Riondino, Fabrizia Sacchi. An Italian-French co-production, produced by Indigo Film and Moana Films, Primavera tells the story of orphaned Cecilia, who plays the violin in the orphanage orchestra by day and writes letters to the mother she has never known by night. A spring wind threatens to disrupt her routine in the form of the new violin teacher and master composer. He has copper-colored hair, his name is Antonio Vivaldi. Filming takes place in Venice and the province of Rome (read the news).

Come fratelli, a new film for the RAI UNO "Purché finisca bene" cycle is produced by Pepito and directed by Antonio Padovan, from Conegliano. The TV film is shooting in Treviso, recently seen on prime time with the RAI police series Stucky with Giuseppe Battiston. The locations of Come fratelli, about modern families and single fathers handling small children and new acquaintances, include the Gypsotheca and the Tempio Canoviano in Possegno (read the news).

Le città della pianura is the first work from director Francesco Sossai, from Belluno, and is scheduled to film in Sedico and the Feltrino area, Padua, Chioggia and at the Brion Memorial in the cemetery of San Vito (Treviso), a FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiana) property that also served as a location for the second installment of the American blockbuster Dune, directed by Denis Villeneuve. A production Vivo Film, Maze Pictures.

The Confessional directed by Kazutaka Watanabe, is a Japanese fantasy thriller based on the best-selling manga Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe by Hirohiko Araki. Locations in Venice include Fondamenta Nove and the island of San Michele.

Lost in Venice, by Claudia Garde, is German production, an action movie that – as the title announces – is set in the lagoon city, on the islands of Pellestrina and Sant’Erasmo.

Winter Harvest, from the Italo-American director Max Leonida, focuses on a dark page in contemporary Italian history, the kidnapping of US General James Lee Dozier by the Red Brigades in 1981.  A production from Astarox Productions in collaboration with Settembre Produzioni and MovieStart, the film is shooting in the places where the events took place, i.e. Verona and Padua (read the news).

“Every corner of Veneto tells a story, something that producers and directors from all over the world have understood - with their works they are consecrating our region as a foundry of sets” concluded Zaia.
