Description

The Short Film Fund aims to support fictional, animated and experimental short films (documentaries are excluded):

  • of a duration of no more than 30 minutes;
  • produced in Piedmont, either entirely or partially, with a significant number of local professionals, workers, local post-production and service suppliers and at least four key roles in production and/or post-production from the region;
  • of a cinematic nature and aimed at a non-industry audience, through the national and international film and television markets, independent circuits and festivals;
  • with a defined online and offline promotion and distribution strategy, providing for actions such as subtitling, the preparation of marketing materials, participation in festivals, and the drawing up of international distribution contracts.

Requirements

  • Minimum spend in the territory:

    150% of the grant amount received.

  • applicants must hold, either directly or through an option contract, at least 50% of the rights to the project submitted (30% for international co-productions).

Payment schedule

The grant will be paid by the Torino Piemonte Film Commission in two instalments:

  • a deposit of 70% upon submitting the notice that work has begun;
  • the remaining 30% upon completion of the project, upon submitting accounting documentation and the final material provided for at each stage of production.

Dependent on the availability of funds.

Notes

The project must be made according to the following schedule:

  • Start: within 3 months of the publication of the list of projects awarded funding, with a notice that work has begun
  • Conclusion: within 8 months of the notice date

One single extension of the above-indicated deadline to complete work may be requested, giving justification.
