Film Commission Torino Piemonte: "doc" & "short" – application deadlines 18 June

The Film Commission Torino Piemonte has posted calls for documentaries and short films online: both have deadlines of 18 June.

The Piemonte Doc Film Fund, which has a budget of €250K for the first of the two annual sessions (the second in December), supports documentary projects (no less than 50 minutes in length) that are:

  1. produced by companies and film-makers based in Piedmont – whether stories and themes related to Piedmont or to other regions in Italy or other countries;
  2. stories and themes related to Piedmont, produced by companies with registered offices in Italy, non-EU and EU countries (non-Italian companies must have a company resident in Piedmont acting as co-producer or executive producer).

The Short Film Fund has a budget of €40 K for the first of the two annual sessions (the second in December) and supports fiction, animated and experimental short films (no documentaries; Extended Reality, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and/or Mixed Reality projects are included) with the following characteristics:

  • no longer than 30 minutes in length;
  • production in Piedmont, completely or partially, with a significant involvement of workers and professionals, local service and post-production structures, and local professionals in at least four of the following key roles: 1) Director of photography, 2) Editor, 3) Sound recorder, 4) Set designer, 5) Costume designer, 6) Make-up artist;
  • cinematographic in style, intended for a mainstream audience through the national and international film and television market, independent circuits and festivals;
  • a well-defined online and offline promotion and distribution strategy, comprising activities such as subtitling, preparation of communication materials, festival participation, international distribution agreements.
