Where it was filmed 'Fuochi d’Artificio'

The tv series Fuochi d’Artificio, directed by Susanna Nicchiarelli, is based on the book by Andrea Bouchard.

The protagonists are four teenagers, who in 1944 in the Piedmont Alps dream of the war’s end and the moment when they can hug their parents and older siblings again. When they discover, by chance, that their age allows them to avoid suspicion and searches, they decide to secretly help the partisans. The work of Sara (Carlotta Dosi), Marta (Anna Losano), Marco (Lorenzo Enrico) and Davide (Luca Charles Brucini) is attributed to "Sandokan", a mysterious rebel who causes trouble for the nazis and fascists of the valley. Tackling steep slopes with breathtaking descents, facing enormous dangers and showing great courage, the four contribute to the Resistance’s final victory and Italy’s liberation from enemy occupation.

Key protagonists of the story are the settings, all in Piedmont, of Val di Susa and various Alpine municipalities. Locations included the forte di Exilles, used to create a Nazi command, and places in the historic centre of the municipality of Exilles; the historic centre of Oulx where Marta’s grandparents’ house is located; Rochemolles, a hamlet of Bardonecchia in the province of Turin; Cesana Torinese; the municipalities of Susa and Sestriere.
