Sammezzano Castle, one of the most important examples of orientalist architecture in Italy, is located approximately 30km from Florence. Built in the mid-19thcentury, the building features picturesque Arabic elements, Indian symbols and majestic archways. The Castle’s park is home to a priceless array of plant specimens comprising a number of exotic and indigenous trees.
