Casa La Scala, also known as Villa Bloc, is a modern building that overlooks Lake Garda, in Portese del Garda, San Felice del Benaco (BS).
Built between 1956-58, the villa was designed by Vittoriano Viganò for his friend, the sculptor and architect André Bloc. The house is made of two blocks of reinforced cement which act as the base and roof, with half the construction extended over the lake on columns and steel pillars. With windows around the entire house, the light and airy interior focuses on the view over the lake.
Set amidst vineyards and olive groves, the villa has access to the small harbour by a long staircase, whose 100 steps wrap around a 40m high cement pillar.
