Verona’s Lamberti tower was built in the 12th century in the Romanesque style typical of the time (as demonstrated by the lower part still visible today), alternating brick and tuff rock.
In 1464 the octagonal bell tower was erected above the triple windows bringing its height to 84m, the tallest in Verona. The clock was added in the 1700s, and still works today.
The tower is open to the public: 368 steps lead to the first viewing levels which offer an unparalleled view over the city and its surroundings. The belltower houses four bells.
